Young Performers

The Young Performers Ensemble (YPs) is for children ages of 5-7, who participate in Center Stage Musicals. No audition is required to be a Young Performer, and everyone who registers will be able to participate provided they do not have more than 2 calendar conflict dates). Spots are limited, as we're only able to cast a maximum of 20 per shows (10 for each cast).

Young Performer rehearsals are Saturdays 10-11am, and studio rehearsals with the entire cast towards the back end of the rehearsal schedule. They perform all 4 shows for their cast, chaperoned backstage by parent volunteers.

Actors must be 5 years by the month rehearsals begin. Young Performers will be in at least three songs in the show.

Registration includes the participation fee and general costume expense (except for shoes, basic stage makeup and undergarments such as leotards, tights, undershirts, and bike shorts).

Young Performer families must commit a minimum of 10 hours of backstage supervision for Young Performers during technical rehearsals and performances. Training will be provided.

No absences or conflicts are allowed for the week of tech rehearsals before the show, or for performances.

As part of PYT’s community outreach, we present special weekday morning performances of our productions for school groups in the area. These fall on Thursday and Friday of the performance week at 9:30am. Each cast will perform at one of these. Cast members should be prepared to miss school to perform with their cast.
