School Play in a Box
PYT offers local schools on-site, after-school drama classes and productions, called School Play in a Box (SPIB).
With SPIB, students learn acting skills, character development, team-building, storytelling, creativity, leadership skills, and more! It's also a great way for students to make new friends and build confidence.
Our instructors are experienced theater professionals, and meet with your students (up to 20 per class) once a week for 90 minutes at a time. During meetings, we play theatre games, practice skills, and rehearse a script for a final performance.
The class culminates after 10 weeks with a performance for family and friends.
PYT provides
Script, instructor, props, sound cues, backdrops, simple costume suggestions, registration, flyer, and curriculum.
The school provides
A large space for rehearsals and performance. Help publicizing and sharing info with parents and students, and a point person to liaise between the school and PYT. Parents should be available by email for updates and will be asked to provide a simple costume.
